Vila Valverde Design & Country Hotel Environmental Policy
Vila Valverde Design & Country Hotel develops an environmental policy, practicing efficient environmental management in order to minimize the environmental impact resulting from its activity. In this way, the natural resources and energy they possess are used rationally, reducing the impact of pollution on the environment as much as possible.
In accordance with current legislation, Hotel Vila Valverde Design & Country offers:
* A sustainable construction, the partitions are insulated with Portuguese cork. (ecological material)
* Cleaning supplies are chemical free throughout the home.
* Pool cleaning and care products have been replaced by biological alternatives, our pools are chlorine-free, having several filtering systems for the outdoor pool and an ozone filtering system for the indoor pool.
* Energy efficiency, much of the energy is obtained by solar panels.
* Energy saving lamps, LED lamps, LED TV screens, electrical activation in rooms with cards.
* Internal water source for agricultural irrigation.
* The water from our bathrooms goes to a separate sewer, while all the other water's used at our hotel, goes to a sewer where the water is then reused and filtered
* Cistern where water from the lawn irrigation system is collected and reused as much as possible.
* Whole-house water-saving mixer taps without sacrificing performance.
* Sensitive plastic throughout the house, also no plastic bottles.
* Organic cultivation such as vegetable-grown potatoes, sweet potatoes, strawberries, melons, watermelons, cucumbers, courgettes, onions, salads, peas, broad beans, various herbs for cooking, as well as non-pulverized fruit trees oranges, lemons, grapefruits, blood oranges, apples, peaches, avocados, blueberries, blackberries, almonds, figs, olives, extra virgin olive oil. We respect the natural growth of plants and use only organic fertilizers.
* Food, whenever possible we choose local products and promote environmental awareness. In our restaurant we offer vegan and vegetarian alternatives.
* We separate our waste for easy recycling or reuse. All employees are aware of the importance of minimizing waste production and promoting the use of minimally aggressive materials. Vegetable residues from the gardens are transformed into fertilizers for our organic vegetable cultivation. Waste separation Household waste, paper, glass, plastic, batteries.
Parking / Charging station for electric vehicles
The hotel has on-site parking. There is a parking space reserved for guests with reduced mobility and a charging station for electric vehicles. We want to make one more contribution to the reduction of pollutant emissions.
Laundry
We have a laundry service with an automatic dosing system for cleaning products at the hotel, where you can request your clothes to be washed, dried and ironed. Due to fire regulations, irons are not allowed in the rooms.
Baggage
Vila Valverde has a luggage transport service from the parking lot to Reception. We have luggage room.
Transfers
The hotel offers a transfer service. Faro Airport / Vila Valverde - 98.00 euros. Please contact reception for more information.
Business Center
We provide a quiet space, equipped with a computer and printer, with access to 1GB Fiber Optic, as in the entire Hotel.
Honesty Bar
Our bar, located on the 0th floor, "Honesty" Bar, offers a wide variety of spirits and allows guests to prepare their own drinks and cocktails.
Outdoor Pool
The pool tries not to impose itself on the surrounding countryside . As such, it does not have the usual appearance of a typical hotel swimming pool, reusing the old water tank from the property's original agricultural farm. It has a pleasant relaxation area with a wooden deck, sun loungers and parasols, ideal for making the most of the wonderful sunny days in the Algarve, both in summer and winter.
Extensive Lawn
The entire land surrounding the development is gracefully landscaped, but the highlight is the huge lawn in front of the building, where there is also a lake and a fountain. It is a fantastic space for leisure, rest and walks.
Bicycles
Vila Valverde offers guests touring and off-road bicycles.
There are other options such as horse riding, golf, sailing, water sports, visiting the international circuit of motor sports in the Algarve, but tours around the region are also available.
Heated Indoor Pool
It offers a leisure and wellness area, even when outside temperatures are less inviting. An interesting lighting system creates different environments and contributes to the relaxation of users.
Wine Cellar
This is an interesting space dedicated to quality Portuguese wine. Tastings are held there that allow you to get to know a little of the enormous national oenological potential. It is also used for group meetings and dinners.
Wellness Center
It is a complement to the indoor pool. It offers a sauna to relax, a Japanese bath, which is in the same space as the Sauna, on the -1 floor, which you can enjoy after attending the sauna in order to rebalance your body and soul. By appointment, you can also enjoy a massage , a relaxation ritual to your liking performed by a health professional.
